You asked. We listened.

  • What are the different techniques for micro-grafting?

There are various techniques for hair restoration through grafting, the most common are: •FUT (follicular unit transplant) known as the Strip method. •FUE (follicular unit extraction) known for the individual extraction of follicles, Kaloni is one of the world leaders in this technique.
  • What is hair micro-grafting?

The technique consists in moving testosterone-resistant hair follicles into the bald area (or other areas). These follicles will behave the same way as they did at the back of the head, continuing to grow and never fall out.
  • What areas of the body can be used to extract the hair?

Because of its unique genetic composition, the ideal hair follicles are the ones located in the back part of the head. In some cases other hair follicles might be used, such as the ones located in the chest or back.
  • Who should undergo a micro-grafting procedure?

We recommend the procedure for any man or woman, preferably from teen years on up. Prior to the procedure a specialist will determine exactly if the person is suitable for the micro-grafting experience. The analysis might recommend some other treatment, like preventive care.
  • How long does the implant session last?

The length of the procedure varies depending on many factors; the most common factor is the number of hairs being placed. The implant session may last from 4 to 7 hours.
  • Is the implanted hair permanent?

Yes, the hair will not fall out because of its genetic characteristics, regardless where the transplant is placed.
  • How long does it take to recover my hair?

The initial analysis, with one of our experts, will determine the number of sessions and the special treatment each person needs, but usually only one session is enough. The implanted hair will evolve gradually and might be visible between the 6th and 7th month; the final results will begin to show around the 13th and the 14th month.
  • Is it painful?

No, most of our patients are quite comfortable during and after the procedure. Occasionally some discomfort might be felt with the application of the local anesthesia; this varies from patient to patient.
  • Will there be scarring?

No, our technique is the only one that leaves no scars, due to the size of the tools being used. With our technique there is no need for cutting and stitching. The same is true for the implantation device as it is minimally invasive.
  • Does it look natural?

Yes, as our micro-grafting kit is minimally invasive. The implantation is done with 3 elements in mind: angle, direction, and depth, completely achieving natural results.
  • Is anesthesia used?

Only local anesthesia is needed. The patient is awake during the procedure, some patients choose to take a nap, listen to music, or watch television during the process.
  • Are there any risks or complications?

No, the procedure is quite simple, as the work is only done on the dermal area. The procedure does not interfere with any basic function of the organism and the patient is reincorporated to regular activities the very next day.
  • Is there micro-grafting for women?

Yes. Around 30% of women suffer, in some degree, from hair loss and/or thinning hair. This issue is not as noticeable thanks to the nature of the balding pattern, which is easily concealed. Thankfully, the procedure works perfectly on both men and women; in case the patient is not viable for the procedure, our expert medical team can recommend other available solutions.
